Technical Specifications

The REST-HECOOR Speed Test has been inspired by the classic Fingertip tapping test of the NEPSY assessment battery (Korkman et al., 1998a, Korkman et al., 1998b). This task has been designed to identify the baseline motor ability of the user, which allows to know the response time for simple motor tasks, and thus to extrapolate the processing speed for more complex tasks. This task allows to accurately measure the number of times a user is able to click with the mouse or finger on a specific portion of the screen in a given time. Being a computerized test, the administration of the test and the processing of the results are very simple.

Start task

For more information about what variables are measured in this task, read this document.

  • Evaluated cognitive abilities:Response time, and processing speed.
  • Time allowed:15 seconds.
  • Areas of application:Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Neuropsychology, General Medicine and Research.
  • Format:Online Computerized Test (PCs, cell phones, and tablets).
  • Objective:Press the mouse or the screen of the touch device as many times as possible within the delimited time and within the allowed area.
  • Instructions:A rectangle will appear in the center of the screen. The user must press the square as fast as possible, as many times as possible, during the 15 seconds of the test. The faster the rectangle is pressed, the better the result of the task.
